Jags' Calais Campbell launches initiative to donate up to $20K per game through 2019

Calais Campbell's Season of giving benefits charities in North Florida dedicated to mental health awareness.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Jaguars defensive end Calais Campbell is launching a new initiative called Calais' Season of Giving to raise money for charities in northeast Florida dedicated to mental health awareness with a twist: the better he plays, the more he gives.

TRENDING:

"I wanted to use my platform to bring attention and funds to some very deserving causes both in Jacksonville and nationally. Season of Giving gives me an opportunity to do both. I'm asking Jags fans to join me in raising money by pledging a dollar amount for each sack I have this season, with every dollar raised going directly back to different charities."

Each month, Campbell will donate up to $20,000 to a different charity- Feeding Northeast Florida in September, Clara White Mission in October, Wounded Warrior Project in November, and United Way in December.

Campbell's donations will be based on game performance:

  • Jaguars win: $1,000
  • Sack: $5,000
  • Half of Sack: $2,500
  • Tackle for Loss: $2,000
  • Blocked Kick/Turnover: $10,000

"I'm already pretty fired up to perform my best each time I'm on the field, but having the fans and the community behind me provides the extra incentive to help the Jags win and dominate on Sundays. We're all in this together and can really make a difference in this community if we join forces," Campbell said.

Fans and corporate sponsors are encouraged to donate a dollar amount for each Calais Campbell sack this season.
