Jaguars will honor Action News Jax’s Tenikka Hughes as ‘Community Champion of the Game’ on Sunday

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Action News Jax’s own Tenikka Hughes will be honored Sunday during the Jacksonville Jaguars’ final home game of the 2024 season.

The Jaguars said that Tenikka will be recognized as the “Community Champion of the Game” during the third quarter as the Jags take on the Tennessee Titans.

The Jaguars are honoring Tenikka for her literacy efforts in the community, like her annual “Tenikka’s Books for Kids” book collection drive.

“Tenikka’s Books for Kids” has collected and distributed more than 30,000 free books to children since its inception.

She also reads to kids at schools, day cares, and community centers on a regular basis.

Earlier this year, Tenikka was honored by READ USA as a part of their 2024 “Peace in the Pages” awards.

She has won several state-level service awards from organizations such as the Florida Literacy Coalition and Florida chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma International Society for Key Women Educators.
