JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Update Aug. 28, 5:30 p.m.: The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said a juvenile died Sunday in a head on collision on Norwood Ave.

When police arrived to the scene of the crash, one vehicle was flipped over and another was damaged. Police freed one person from the flipped car who was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, but said a child involved in the wreck was deceased when they arrived. They did not confirm that age of the child.
Three other people involved in the crash sustained non life-threatening injuries.
Police said it appeared that the driver of one of the cars tried to make a pass in a no passing zone when they collided with the front end of another car.
The 6300 to 6700 blocks of Norwood Ave. will remain closed while traffic homicide detectives investigate the crash.

The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department tweeted that it's responding to a deadly crash at Norwood Ave. and Calvert St. in North Jacksonville.
Emergency responders on the scene freed one person who was trapped and said another person died.
