On Thursday, Kimberly Kessler waived her appearance before a Nassau County judge.
Kessler is the only suspect in the disappearance of Joleen Cummings who was last seen in May.
Cummings’ mother, Anne Johnson, was inside the courtroom Thursday.
She told Action News Jax, “Every time Joleen’s name is mentioned I’m going to be there. I’m Joleen’s voice, I’ll always be Joleen’s voice.”
Johnson’s vehicle bears a decal that reads ‘Justice for Joleen’.
The mother explained she wants to keep the search for her daughter fresh in everyone’s mind.
“Do you ever have complete closure? No, you never have complete closure. But, you need that. We need my daughter found,” she described.
According to Johnson the entire family is struggling, but Cummings’ children are suffering the most.
She said, “My living room is like a shrine. We talk about her, the good times. Her 10-year-old is the one most affected.”
Kessler’s next court date is set for August 23rd.
