JSO makes arrest in Hyde Park teen’s murder

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man in connection to a murder of a 17-year-old in October.

On October 3, officers arrived at the area of 6900 Red Robin Drive in reference to a welfare check. When they arrived, officers found a 17-year-old boy with a gunshot wound. He died at the scene.

20-year-old Tristan Haire was identified as the suspect and a warrant went out for his arrest. On Oct. 17, Haire was arrested in Decatur, Georgia with the assistance of the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force and the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office. On November 4 Haire was extradited back to Jacksonville and charged with Murder in the Second Degree and Possession of a Firearm by a Delinquent Juvenile.

Haire’s arraignment date is set for December 1.
