JACKSONVILLE, Fla — A Jacksonville mother wants justice for her son after police say 45-year-old Kimberly Heath shot and killed him at home Friday on Fort Caroline Road.

Action News Jax went to the home where the victim was killed and spoke with his mother Audrey Longley.

She says her son and Heath were married.

“She killed my son,” says Audrey Longley.

Longley identified the victim as 40-year-old Nathaniel Heath.

She says her son was going through a lot with his wife.

“He had not been staying here because she was afraid that she was going to kill him,” says Longley.

She believes her son was lured inside their home just minutes before he was killed by his wife.

“When he came to the house, he went in. From the time he got here 8 minutes later she had shot him,” says Longley.

We spoke with Jeoff Perreault, a friend and roommate of Nathaniel Heath.

He says he can’t believe this happened.

“It was very shocking,” says Perreault

Perreault was still staying at home, but he says on Friday he went to a doctor’s appointment when the shooting took place.

He says if he had been there he believes the shooting would’ve never happened.

Perreault adds Heath would give his shirt off of his back to anyone.

“He’s got a whole army of friends and family that love him. He was a very good person. He did everything in his power to help everyone around him,” says Perreault.

Longley says she never imagined this would ever happen to her son

“I’m his momma. I birthed him and took care of him until he died,” says Longley.

Longley adds she just wants justice for her son

“Part of me feels bad for her, but I want her to suffer the way she has made me suffer,” says Longley
