JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Jacksonville drivers, be aware as construction is expected to take place on Philips Highway (U.S. 1) beginning on Monday, Jan. 16.

The resurfacing project will take place on Philips Highway between University Boulevard and Baymeadows Road.

Work will include milling and resurfacing, base work, shoulder treatment, drainage improvements, curbs and gutters, traffic signals, lighting, highway signing, utility work and other incidental construction.
Work will take place during daytime hours, Monday through Friday. Occasional night work will take place based on lane closure restrictions.
During construction, no lane closures will be allowed from 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. within 600 feet of an intersection with signals.
Watson Civil Construction was selected to complete the $19.9 million project.
