JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The countdown to the Rolling Stones is on and fans can’t wait to see Mick Jagger take the stage at TIAA bank stadium in two days.
Rolling Stones fan Tom Johnson can’t wait for the iconic rock band to hit the stage Friday.
“I’m old. I listen to their music all the time in fact we’re bottling whiskey right now and I’ve got the Some Girls album on,” said Tom Johnson, Partner and Sales Director of Manifest Distilling.
Johnson has worked at Manifest Distilling for almost three years and he’s looking forward to the extra boom in business the concert will bring.
“Every time there’s foot traffic around us we get a bump in sales and revenue,” Johnson said.
Visit Jacksonville says having the Stones return to Jacksonville for the first time after 30 years is a big deal.
Jacksonville beat out other cities for a chance to be one of 13 to host the Stones.

Visit Jacksonville says when Lynyrd Skynyrd came here last year, they brought 50,000 people to the downtown area and they’re hoping that the Stones will bring in even more.
“Having an event in our stadium and showing the world that we can host big stadium like this is just putting us on the map for so many opportunities in the future,” Katie Mitura, the VP of Marketing and Communications for Visit Jacksonville, said.
Johnson says his business will open early and stay open late for fans who want to celebrate before and after the concert.
He’s hoping big events like the Rolling Stones, bring more people into a relatively new area.
“All exposure that we can get into the Doro District is good because it’s still a fledgling area that’s developing,” Johnson said.
Visit Jacksonville says they should have a number on how much money the rolling stones generated for downtown Jacksonville a week after the event.
