3 arrested after running on Jags football field; 2 plead no contest, 1 has charges dropped

JACKSONVILLE, Fla — UPDATE, 2/14/2023: Ethan Davies entered a plea of no contest on Tuesday. His sentencing is scheduled for Feb. 28 at 9 a.m.

Charges against Michael Edward Richmond were dropped. Patrick Thomas Julianelle pleaded no contest and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for time served.

During the Jaguars’ victorious football game on Sunday, three men attempted to run on the field, with only one of them succeeding.

Ethan Davies, 24, jumped over the barrier and ran through the field holding on to a football. According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office arrest report, he continued his run across the field, causing the NFL game to come to a pause for a minute and 42 seconds.

Security personnel also chased Davies and took him to the ground while JSO arrived. Police noticed he was covered in an oil-like substance that made him very slippery.

Davies was escorted off the field.

In the arrest reports, two other suspects were involved who had been seen with Davies multiple times.

Michael Edward Richmond, 23, and Patrick Thomas Julianelle, 33, were right behind Davies when he jumped over the barrier, but they were caught by security personnel before they could reach the field.

Once they were taken to the security office holding room, police conducted a search, and Richmond was found to be in possession of cocaine and methamphetamines.

Davies was charged with interruption of business and committing breach of peace by three or more persons.

Richmond was charged with possession of cocaine and controlled substances, committing breach of peace by three or more persons, and criminal conspiracy.

Jullianelle was charged with committing breach of peace by three or more persons and criminal conspiracy.

No suspect was injured during the time of the arrest.

The individual arrested after trespassing onto the field during the Raiders-Jaguars game on Sunday, as well as two accomplices who were also arrested, have been permanently banned by the team from attending sports or entertainment events at TIAA Bank Field and Daily’s Place. Second chances will not be given to any individual whose actions at either venue threaten the safety and security of players, performers, officials, employees and fans.
