JACKSONVILLE, FLa — A Mandarin neighborhood is starting to clean up after a storm came through the area yesterday.

Action News Jax had a chance to speak with one man who says he had four very large tree limbs fall in his backyard. He adds luckily, it didn’t land on his house.

Limbs, bases of trees, and leaves are just some of the things that residents are slowly trying to pick up, including Bruce Emanuel who lives on Docksider Drive.

He says he has been up since this morning, trying his best to clean up the mess this storm created.

“Mostly it’s been tree damage here, we’re not bad as the others, but it’s been a long day here,” says Emanuel.

Emanuel says a couple of tree limbs fell down in his back yard; but thankfully didn’t cause any significant damage.

“Four 20-foot limbs come from about 80 feet up, thankfully everything missed the roof,” says Emanuel.

Although Emanuel came out of the storm okay, one of his neighbors who lives just two doors down didn’t.

We told you last night about Matthew McKenzie, who had a tree fall, and slice right down the middle of his home.

McKenzie told me yesterday, the tree wasn’t even on his property; but instead his neighbors.

“We’re a little upset about the tree because this tree was struck by lightning on the last storm about two months ago. We notified the neighbors, and the other neighbors notified the neighbors. We even took drone footage of the tree and they refused to cut it down,” says McKenzie.
