Gate Petroleum Company announced plans Wednesday for Durbin Park, a 1,600 acre, super-regional, mixed-used development in St. Johns County.

According to a map, a 150,000-square foot Bass Pro Shops big-box store will be part of the development between I-95 and State Road 9B. Additional big-box stores are planned for the same area.

Gate said when completed, Durbin Park will include an estimated 2.4 million square feet of retail, 2.8 million square feet of office space, 999 multi-family units and 350 hotel rooms. Entertainment and walking trails will also be part of the project.

The project is divided into four phases and the first two will be completed in the next five years. Phase 1 will include 700,000 square feet of retail, anchored with three big-box stores and will be finished by 2018.

Phase 2 will be completed a little more than a year after that and will include restaurants, entertainment and retail space, including a Bass Pro Shops.
