According to JSO, the missing woman has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.

It took about 40 police members and 50 Jacksonville Fire and Rescue members to look for the woman.

Bloodhound K9s and drones were also involved in the search.

The last location she was seen was 11000 Mountain Wood Lane wearing matching blue and purple pajamas with no shoes.

The cause of death is still unknown and JSO is still investigating. Gerding was visiting from out of town so they believe there is no connection between her and the high school.

JSO says they hoped for a better outcome this Christmas.
