NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. — A former West Nassau High School teacher was arrested Friday for sending sexually explicit text messages to a student, according to the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office.
In an arrest report obtained by Action News Jax, the investigation began in June after a student reported receiving inappropriate texts from the school’s head tennis coach Sheri Braddock.
Deputies say Braddock coached the student athlete.
NCSO says the text messages between Braddock and the student began in late April but did not become inappropriate until mid-May. That’s when deputies say the 49-year-old began sending sexual text messages to the victim.
“I hope your momma doesnt see these messages. Ill be in big trouble.”
“U should delete after.”
In later texts, Braddock apologized to the student and stated she knew the messages were “inappropriate” and had been drinking at the time and that drinking makes you “make bad decisions.”
Braddock was booked into the Nassau County Detention Facility. She currently faces one charge of transmitting harmful materials to a minor.
Action News Jax has reached out to the Nassau County Schools for the status of Braddock’s employment.
