JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Recently released video from 2015 appears to show a Navy pilot following unidentified flying objects off the coast of Jacksonville.

But the video isn't only receiving attention from alien and UFO enthusiasts — federal lawmakers are looking into the it to understand and identify threats to the safety and security of aviators.
F/A-18 Super Hornet pilot Lt. Ryan Graves, a 10-year Navy veteran, told the New York Times, "the video showed objects accelerating to hypersonic speed, making sudden stops and instantaneous turns — something beyond the physical limits of a human crew."
When asked about the now-defunct Advanced Aviation Threat Identification Program, which was ended in 2012 due to budgetary issues, a Pentagon spokeswoman said: "The DoD takes seriously all threats and potential threats to our people, our assets, and our mission and takes action whenever credible information is developed."
