NCSO: Yulee woman arrested after rolling in the middle of traffic with baby in her arms

NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. — A Yulee woman was arrested Monday after reportedly being seen rolling around in the middle of traffic with a baby in her arms.

According to the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office, Precious Norris, 31, is charged with disorderly intoxication and child neglect.

Deputies responded to Blackrock Road after a woman spotted a screaming Norris lying in the middle of traffic with a baby and called 911.

Police noted the baby appeared “unkempt”, had nothing on other than a dirty diaper, and had scratches on her body that were consistent with rolling around on the road.

The report states that Norris was hysterical and crying, and her speech was slurred from intoxication. Due to her mental state and inability to care for and protect the child, deputies arrested Norris and removed the child from her care.

Norris was taken to a nearby hospital to be medically cleared before being transported to the Nassau County Jail.

The incident report does not state the relationship between the woman and the child.

Court documents state Norris is prohibited to have contact with the child as a condition of her pretrial release.
