Lake Butler students released early, city without water

LAKE BUTLER, Fla. — The Union County Sheriff’s Office says students are being released from school early because of a water outage.

Officials say schools, as well as the entire city, will not have water for an extended period of time today due to the city’s main water line being struck in front of the Water Tower.

Repairs are underway.

Students were held at school for pickup until 12 p.m., but are being relocated to Sardis Baptist Church in Worthington Springs. That’s at 3915 Main Street.
