8:30 p.m. UPDATE:
The Clay County Sheriff's Office announced Friday night that a 13 year-old junior high school girl and a 15 -year-old high school girl made separate social media threats against their respective schools.
"Me being here tonight is really to emphasize that it's not cute to make these types of posts," Sheriff Darryl Daniels. "There's more serious things going on in Northeast Florida.Theres more serious crimes going on in Clay County that really need the attention of law enforcement. When you do this, you are subjecting yourself to being arrested for a 2nd degree felony."
Daniels remarked he was surprised that both individuals behind the social media threats were young girls.
"I won’t get into the particulars, but the ironic thing about this is we weren't even going down that road, but she basically put the spotlight on herself. She made herself a victim trying to cover her tracks and she confessed to the crime," Daniels said. "Kids do things and they don’t think it through."
Regarding actions taken for discipline Daniels remarked,"If they’re adults, they'll end up in big jail, and if they're kids, they'll end up in kiddy jail."

In the wake of the Stoneman Douglas High School massacre, CCSO has clearly taken a zero-tolerance stance on social media threats.
“We didn’t get notified, and I want to know why parents didn’t get notified, because that is serious given the fact that we just had a shooting last week, so that’s unsettling to me as a parent,” said OJHS parent Dorothy Munford.
In a series of tweets, Clay deputies said they were made aware of ‘threatening messages, sent through social media.’ CCSO said it led them to an ‘[OJHS] student who was subsequently arrested’ and ‘charged with two felonies and a misdemeanor.’
Deputies said the 15-year-old OHS freshman was arrested for posting that her cousin was going to shoot up the school Thursday.
At this stage, it’s unclear if these threats share any connection.
“It’s really scary…sending your kid to school and not knowing what’s going on,” said OJHS parent Aureli Roshko.
CCSO is holding a news conference Friday at 8 p.m. on the arrests at OHS.
Action News Jax will be there and have full reports at 10 and 11.
