One man found dead, another beaten and dragged by car blocks apart in Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Update 9/29 9:45 p.m.: The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office announced that they arrested Eric Shaun Bridges on charges of attempted murder for allegedly tying up and dragging a victim for two blocks from a van Friday morning.

The victim is still in life-threatening condition.

Police said they determined the van Bridges allegedly drove was stolen while they were investigating the violent crime. After gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses, they were able to locate and arrest Bridges mid-day Sunday.

Update 9/28 3:25 p.m.: The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office found the vehicle it believes was used to drag a person across two blocks Friday morning.

Original story: Action News Jax reporters' Meghan Moriarty and Amber Krycka are at two crime scenes in Moncrief that are blocks apart- one where a man was found dead inside a home with a gunshot wound and another where police believe a man was beaten and dragged by a car for two blocks.

From the crime scene where a man was found dead inside a house, Action News Jax Amber Krycka reported that police don't have any suspect information.

Jacksonville Sheriff's Office deputies told Action News Jax Meghan Moriarty that the person who was beaten and dragged for two blocks is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

JSO said they have a video of the attack but that it's too violent to share.

Police did not say whether the two crime scenes are related.
