THE PLAYERS Championship is looking for volunteers for the PGA TOUR’s flagship event

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. — Are you looking to join a team of nearly 2,000 volunteers who help the PGA TOUR in its flagship event?

Well, there’s great news because THE PLAYERS Championship needs your help.

Beginning on Wednesday, Nov. 2, THE PLAYERS will begin accepting applications for volunteers to help in THE PLAYERS 2023. The prestigious event is slated to take place on Mar. 7-12.

Volunteers at THE PLAYERS are placed into committees, with jobs ranging from on-course duties like serving as a marshal or walking scorer to support roles that involve assisting players and fans, such as admissions and player/caddie services.

“Running an event of this magnitude relies heavily on the support of great partners and dedicated volunteers,” said Houston Bowles, 2023 tournament chairman. “Northeast Florida has proven its solid track record of support in these areas through previous events, and we’re looking for that same great energy for this year’s tournament in March.”

Those who volunteer will not only be part of an unparalleled experience but will also receive the following perks:

  • A PLAYERS branded golf shirt, jacket, hat and pin included with the $99 registration fee.
  • Exclusive early access to purchase Stadium Passes for THE PLAYERS 2023.
  • Discounted meals at Darlene’s Diner, an exclusive volunteer dining facility at THE PLAYERS, throughout the tournament.
  • A 30% discount at the PGA TOUR Fan Shop in addition to special offers and discounts from various tournament sponsors.
  • Additional merchandise and dining perks at TPC Sawgrass for those who volunteer for more than 24 hours during the tournament. Those who surpass 36 hours will be eligible for discounted rates to play at the world-renowned TPC Sawgrass Stadium Course and Dye’s Valley Course.

So, what is the time commitment associated with volunteering?

Volunteers are required to work a minimum of three shifts. One shift must occur during a competition round (Thursday, Mar. 9 – Sunday, Mar. 12). Shift times vary bases on committee; on average, each shift lasts between 4-6 hours.

Those looking to become practice ground runners must be no younger than 10 years old and no older than 13 years old. Standard bearers must be no younger than 14 and no older than 18.
