Police are investigating the death of a 31-year-old Lake City man who collapsed after crashing his car, but police suspect it wasn't the crash that killed him.
The man was found along Fairview Street in Lake City.
Police say they got a call about a possible shooting around 7:40 Tuesday night.
Officers arrived and found a car in the road. They were then called down the street to where they found the man.
Police say the man had tried to make a turn and his car hit the curb. Witnesses say the man got out of the car, took off his shirt and then ran down the street.

Police found the man in a porch area of a nearby home.
He was taken to the hospital, where he died after receiving treatment.
“He was in an excited state and appeared impaired,” said Lake City Police Public Information Officer Mike Lee.
Police said the man did not have any gunshot wounds and they found no evidence of gunshots at the scene.
The car is registered to a rental company. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement was called to process the inside of the car.
