A 36-year-old man was arrested after a search warrant was served at a Westside automotive shop on Wednesday.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said officers were at Jacks’s Auto Services on Cassat Avenue to serve a search warrant for the sale of marijuana.
Officers arrested Michael Jennings and found more than $5,000 in his front pocket, JSO said. Jennings is also a former NFL player.
The narcotics unit searched the area and found about a half a pound of marijuana, about 20 grams of cocaine, assorted opioid polls, crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia, a gun with ammunition and money, JSO said. Officers also reportedly found a revolver behind the business in a shed.
Jennings told officers he didn’t know about the marijuana found his vehicle’s trunk. He also said he knew who the drugs belonged to in the building, JSO said.
JSO said the investigation came after detectives made two transactions for marijuana, once in January and another earlier this week.
Jennings faces several charges, including sale of marijuana, possession of marijuana and possession of cocaine.
