A social media post on a Jacksonville virtual yard sale Facebook page caught the attention of many parents and others in the community.

In the post, a woman asks for advice for her friend, who she says adopted two kids and "wants to know where they could possibly be turned over."

She asked people if there is a “juvenile delinquent place” in Jacksonville where the kids could be dropped off.

Action News Jax reporter Ben Becker took the post to local child advocates.

A Department of Children and Families spokesperson said without firsthand knowledge of the situation, there is little the agency can do unless someone files a complaint.

Jessica Reynolds saw the post and said she couldn’t believe what she was reading.

"I think it’s horrible how can you ask where to send a child," Reynolds said. "You adopted them. That means you are in it for the long run."

James Clark, president of Daniel Kids, said parents have options if they're feeling overwhelmed by behavioral or other issues with their children.

"Anybody who raises children, when they reach adolescence, they become more difficult than when they were babies," Clark said.

He said parents can seek help from Daniel Kids and the United Way.

Action News Jax reached out to the woman who posted the message on Facebook but couldn't reach her.
