PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. — A Putnam County woman is in jail after allegedly stealing personal information from people. Putnam County sheriffs deputies said this comes after she was already being investigated for allegedly vandalizing and stealing from her former employer.

Marisa Sapp, 41, was arrested this week after her employer, Almond Oil Company, said she was caught taking pictures of customers personal information on her cellphone.

The public information officer for Putnam County, Allison Merritt, said highlights a portion of why Sapp is facing charges. Sapp is also facing charges after allegedly stealing from Lewis Oil Company, which was her former employer.

“She was terminated on Oct. 24. Later that evening surveillance video captured her stealing about $600 from the business,” Merritt said.

Deputies said a few days later, she returned to the company again, spilling 2,800 gallons of diesel fuel intentionally. Merritt said Sapp was the person who called the Florida Department of Environmental Protection to report that spill.

“We were able to, through our investigation, match the tire tracks left at the scene to the tire tracks on her Jeep. She disguised her name, used a different name but actually called in this spill herself,” Merritt said.

It caused an environmental hazard, and the company lost around $ 7,700  in profits.

Sapp is now facing 13 charges and is being held on a $95,000 bond.
