Deputies: Putnam County woman arrested after breaking into house for coffee, eggs

PUTNAL COUNTY, Fla. — While three children were sleeping, Putnam County deputies say a woman broke into their Interlachen home Saturday and made herself coffee and eggs.

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office said the homeowner was at work when the incident happened, while her 7-year-old, 10-year-old and 16-year-old were home sleeping.

The homeowner left her job after she got a call from her 16-year-old daughter around 9 a.m. about a woman in their kitchen.

When the mother came home, deputies said she found Wendy Kaufrman inside her house ““actively drinking coffee.”

Deputies said Kaufrman also made herself breakfast with eggs.

The mother asked her to leave. “Not without her daughters,” Kaufrman said, referring to the children in the house.

PCSO said Kaufman eventually went outside and waited on the porch for deputies to arrive.

She was arrested and charged with burglary of an occupied dwelling.

Deputies said she’s being held on a $5,000 bond at the Putnam County Jail, where PCSO said breakfast, lunch and dinner is being served.

“No word on how she likes her eggs,” the sheriff’s office said in a social media post.
