Rain and thunderstorms start week off with a bang

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — If you didn't see rain over the weekend, chances are really good your lawn will get a soaking today.

Action News Jax Chief Meteorologist Mike Buresh is tracking a cold front that will bring much-needed rain today.

“Potential for some locally heavy rainfall. Just about everyone should see at least some rain.  Amounts averaging a third to three quarters of an inch, but locally as much as one to two inches of rainfall”, Buresh said.

A few storms could be strong producing gusty winds and some hail.

Skies clear out by tonight and we turn much less humid for several days. It will still be warm in the afternoon but comfortably cool at night and early mornings.
