Each person involved in a rally that took place Saturday told Action News Jax they want justice for 22-year-old Keegan Roberts who was shot and killed in July on Jacksonville's Southside.
The victim’s wife, Eliany Diaz Roberts, and his mom, Cecillia Shepard, tell us Keegan was confronted by a neighbor who pulled the trigger on their loved one.
“I want this man arrested, he’s walking around and when my daughter-in-law walks outside and she has to look at him over there laughing,” said Shepard.
“I just want justice to be served – he took my husband’s life away, so he should be put away,” said Eliany. “He was my friend and a friend to everybody and this is terrible.”
Robert’s family says the fight was over a piece of plastic that fell off Keegan’s car.
They also claim the neighbor is saying his actions are justified under the “stand your ground law.”
Police say the shooting happened in the street, which is city property.
Action News Jax reached out to the state attorney’s office and they told us this case is still under active investigation.
Robert’s wife tells Action News Jax he was a present father who was elated to soon be welcoming their second child.
“He was my best friend way before we got married, and he’s always been my best friend,” said Eliany.

Keegan’s family is passing out flyers asking for the community to act and to contact state attorney Melissa Nelson and Sheriff Mike Williams about the case.
