Red Cross helping 30 people displaced by Madelyn Oaks Apartments fire in Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The American Red Cross is helping about 30 people after an apartment fire on Jacksonville’s Westside.

The fire happened Friday afternoon at the Madelyn Oaks Apartments on Lenox Avenue.

Flames could be seen coming from the roof. The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department said no one was hurt in the fire.

The Red Cross said about 30 people from 16 apartments need temporary housing help.
