A Jacksonville man was arrested after he shot his adult son in the face with a birdshot from a shotgun, according to a police report.
Larry Kirk Rhoden, 52, was arrested on Monday after his 31-year-old son came to UF Health Jacksonville with a bullet wound to the side of his face.
His son told officers that his father shot him with a bird shot after an argument.
Officers interviewed several people at Rhoden's home on Busac Avenue.
They said they heard a single shot and found the 31-year-old with a gunshot wound to the head.
Officers found a .410 shotgun inside one of the rooms at the home.
Rhoden was arrested and charged with domestic aggravated battery and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon from a 1997 case.
