As a way to ring in 2017, Jacksonville and St. Augustine will host free firework shows.
The Jacksonville Landing will host its New Year’s Eve Celebration, featuring live music, food, drink specials and fireworks.
The event will host a TaxSlayer Bowl Game Watch Party in the court yard at 11 a.m. and live music starts at 4 p.m.
After 7 p.m., The Jacksonville Landing will be gated and only allow those 21 years of age and older, unless they are active military or have the TaxSlayer Bowl Patch. Visitors will be required to show a valid photo ID for admittance, which is free.
The firework display, naturally, will go off at midnight to bring the new year in with a boom.
As for St. Augustine, the city will kick off its Beach Blast-Off New Year's Fireworks Celebration on Dec. 31st from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
There will be partial road closures starting at 4 p.m. and full closure at 6 p.m.
Call the Unified Police Command Center at 904-584-9264 on the day of the event with any questions or concerns.
