Sears announces store closing in Jacksonville's Avenues Mall

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Action News Jax has learned that the Sears in the Avenues Mall will close in mid-December.

In a statement from Sears' public relations director, the liquidation sale is expected to begin mid-September:

Sears recently announced the retail giant has laid off 250 employees from its headquarters and would close some more Sears and Kmart stores by the end of the year.
