Football fans noticed extra security in the first high school football games since the triple shooting outside the Lee-Raines game last Friday.
Police said a triple shooting after the game claimed the life of 19-year-old Joerod Adams and left two others hurt.
Officers attributed it to gang violence and arrested Robert Howard, who’s just 16 years old.

“It’s real disconcerting that something like that has to happen. That’s unacceptable,” said football fan Richard Arrington.
Friday night, staff screened fans for weapons and security was placed all over the stadium for the match-up between Terry Parker and Fletcher high schools.
Action News Jax also stopped by the Fleming Island-Sandalwood and Englewood-Jackson games. Fans at both said they noticed tighter security there, too.
“Security has been awesome,” said local mom Keyanna Taylor. “They’ve been checking bags, wanding you down, making sure nothing gets in the game that’s not supposed to be in the game.”
Clay, St. Johns, and Putnam counties have all also taken steps to add security at football games.
