JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A local woman tells Action News Jax Ben Becker a local Kay Jewelers would not give her the time of day when she tried to return a watch.
Janet O’Neal says she bought the $400 Bulova watch for her husband as a special gift for Christmas but wishes she could turn back time.
“[It was] resized twice,” said O’Neal in an email to Becker after it “fell off her husband’s wrist.”
Kay “refused a refund,” O’Neal continued, even though she says it was within the 30-day window to get her money back.
She didn’t have a second to spare at this point, so Becker got to work. He emailed Kay Jewelers and they acted in a split second, refunding O’Neal her money.
“[They] resolved [it] today with a full refund and apology,” O’Neal texted Becker. “Thank you for getting my money back.”
A Kay spokesperson sent Becker a statement:
“Ben, we’re pleased that our customer is satisfied with the outcome.”
