Police: Guns found near Palatka victims killed in Christmas Day triple shooting

PALATKA, Fla. — The Palatka Police Department said Wednesday there are “several persons of interest” in a Christmas Day shooting that killed a teen and a man, and injured one man.

PPD said in a Facebook post that guns were found near the teen and the man who died.

Dorrion McKinnon, 17, of Palatka, who died from his injuries, “had a rifle at the time of the incident. The gun was recovered on the ground next to Dorrion before he was transported to the hospital,” police said.

Police said a handgun was lying on the ground near Tyree Gilyard, 23, of Palatka, who was also killed in the shooting.

These guns are being processed by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, PPD said.
