Customers sign up for the service, select the groceries they want using the Shipt app and select the time they want them delivered. Personal shoppers then pick up the items from Publix and deliver them to the customer's home. Shipt is also recruiting shoppers/delivery drivers, who can make $15 to $20 per hour according to the Shipt website, in the Jacksonville area.

Throughout 2015, Shipt has launched its services in South Florida, Tampa, Sarasota and Orlando. Shipt also has delivery service in six other states: Alabama, Arizona, Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee and Texas. Shipt is not affiliated with Publix and in states where Publix does not have a presence, Shipt delivers to stores such as Kroger or Fry's Food.
