SJCFR Station 19 C-shift honors fallen heroes by completing “The Murph” Challenge on Memorial Day

ST. JOHNS, Fla. — In a remarkable display of dedication and tribute, the crew of SJCFR Station 19 C-Shift came together on Memorial Day to undertake the formidable “The Murph” challenge.

Marking the 10th anniversary of this grueling workout, the firefighters paid homage to fallen heroes by completing the physically demanding routine.

“The Murph” challenge, named after Lieutenant Michael P. Murphy, a United States Navy SEAL who lost his life in combat in 2005, has become a popular Memorial Day tradition for many. It consists of a rigorous sequence involving a 1-mile run, 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 squats, and another 1-mile run, all while donning a 20-pound weighted vest.

With unwavering determination and a strong sense of camaraderie, the crew of SJCFR Station 19 C-Shift took on this formidable challenge as a unit. Undeterred by the physical demands, they pushed their limits to honor the sacrifices made by brave servicemen and women who laid down their lives for their country.
