JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Some Latitude 360 customers are seeing new membership charges show up on their credit card statements even though the business closed weeks ago.
CEO Brent Brown responded to Action News Jax’s questions about the charges Friday. It’s the first time he’s gotten back to us since the day after his entertainment restaurant on Philips Highway shut down.
Latitude 360’s doors were only open through Jan. 6, but Brown acknowledged some members got charged for the full month.
Angelina DeLuca’s credit card statement shows Latitude 360 charged her $26.66 for the full month of her January membership -- three days before it shut down.
She said she was there with her family the week before and bought $75 worth of game cards her kids can’t use now.

“I never saw it coming,” said DeLuca.
Brown said in a text message the employees at the membership concierge number have been giving refunds to the other members charged for January.
“I made three or four phone calls and no returned call back,” said DeLuca.
When Action News Jax told Brown DeLuca never got a call back from the concierge, he asked us to give her his number.
“He said send my information through to his email and he will have it reversed first thing Monday,” said DeLuca.
Two hours later, her credit card company notified her she got a refund.
Brown would not comment when Action News Jax asked him if he plans to open two new Latitude 360 locations in Atlanta and Philadelphia -- even while employees say they haven’t been able to cash their final two paychecks and we’ve found documentation the company owes unpaid county, state and federal taxes.
The Florida Department of Economic Opportunity said Latitude 360 did not file any employee wages with the state.

A cook who was denied unemployment benefits because of that forwarded Action News Jax an email from the company’s chief financial officer, Alan Greenstein. Greenstein blamed the problem on the company’s 2014 name change from Latitude 30 to Latitude 360 and said the company is working to fix it.
