K9 ‘Huk’ recovering after officer-involved incident in North Jacksonville

Huk helped take down suspect Patrick McDowell in Nassau County

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Action News Jax has learned from sources that a K9 officer named Huk was shot during an officer-involved incident in Jacksonville on Friday.

Huk has been involved in high-profile cases, such as the search for Patrick McDowell, a suspect accused of killing a Nassau County deputy in September 2021.

His brother, Chaos, was shot during the pursuit of McDowell.

He also helped take down a suspect during a January SWAT callout on Jacksonville’s Southside.

Huk was airlifted after the shooting and we were told he is in stable condition. Check back for updates.
