A Jacksonville man is recovering following a shooting at a Southside apartment complex early Sunday morning.
JSO says the victim was shot when he approached suspects who were breaking into cars at the Pinbebrook Apartments around 5 a.m.
JSO says the man tried to run away but a suspect pulled out a gun and shot him.
Action News Jax Crime and Safety Expert Ken Jefferson says if you notice suspicious activity, it’s best to call 911 first and to not confront anyone.
“Create a habit of locking your door when you get out of your cars looking your windows locking your doors to your apartment or your home. Make it a habit to do it every time you walk inside or every time you get out,” said Jefferson.
