The long-time TV news anchor and founder of the 26.2 with Donna is running to replace Lenny Curry, who is term-limited.

Deegan says it appears to her that more Jacksonville Sheriff’s Officers are needed, based on crime statistics. But she also says an investment in community policing and more would be vital, referring back to the Jacksonville Journey from the John Peyton administration.
Deegan vows to never seek privatization of JEA, and believes activating the downtown riverfront is vital to attracting a young workforce.
