A St. Johns County man said he held a suspect at gunpoint after a car was shot up at a shopping center on Friday.

Justin Louque works at Tuffy Tire in the St. Johns County shopping center where the shooting happened.

Louque said he heard gunshots outside the store and saw the man with a gun.

“I told him to get on the ground without the gun,” Louque said. “I held him at gunpoint until police arrived.”

Louque said the suspect told him the people in the car were running him off the road.

Two people showed up at the hospital with gunshot wounds.

“He said it was road rage, they were running him off the road and they were assaulting him,” Louque said.

Another witness told Action News Jax that they heard 10 gunshots and thought it was a bank robbery.

Deputies detained the suspect. They have not released his name or possible charges.
