ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — With the nationwide staffing shortages, St. Johns County residents have been experiencing delays in yard waste pickup. Now, they may be relieved to hear the county has opened a free drop-off location for their yard waste.
Residents can now drop off waste for free at the Republic Services facility, located at 445A International Golf Parkway.
The free service begins immediately, and the county says it will continue until Republic Services is able to return to the regular schedule.
Drop-off service is for St. Johns County residents only, and no commercial trucks or vehicles will be allowed.
Drop-off times are Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Resident must unload their waste, as staff will not be available for assistance in unloading waste.
The county also said the delays should not affect their household garbage and recycling pickups.
