ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — Gov. Ron DeSantis visited the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office on Friday morning to sign a police K9 bill into Florida law.
When police K9s are hurt in the line of duty, the new Florida law will allow first responders to take police K9s in an ambulance and give them emergency medical care.

“Law enforcement K-9s are often the first to put their lives on the line by providing critical life-saving services. Today, I’m signing legislation to ensure they quickly receive the care they need when injured in the line of duty,” DeSantis said in a tweet.
