ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — A multi-county pursuit of a man accused of holding a woman in a car against her will ended on Interstate 95 in southern St. Johns County on Friday afternoon.
It all began when the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office reached out to the Florida Highway Patrol for assistance in pursuing a car after they got reports that a woman was trying to get out of the car while it was in motion.

Deputies tried to stop the car, but the driver took off and eventually entered Flagler County, FHP said.
At that point, troopers took over the pursuit of the car. FHP said the suspect lost control of the car on I-95 just north of State Road 207 in St. Johns County and crashed into the grass shoulder.

The man, a 30-year-old from Jacksonville, was arrested on “numerous charges,” FHP said, and taken to the St. Johns County Jail.
