Teen dies after pickup flips on I-95 in St. Johns County, FHP says

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — Florida Highway Patrol is investigating after a teenager died in a crash on I-95 northbound off-ramp at International Golf Parkway.

According to the crash report, at around 5:56 p.m. Sunday, a 17-year-old boy from Daytona Beach was driving a pickup truck on I-95 and was prepping to take the exit at International Golf Parkway. As the pickup truck exited, it ran off the roadway to the left, rotated clockwise, overturned and came to its final rest on its roof.

A 19-year-old boy and a 14-year-old boy were passengers in the car. The 19-year-old, who was sitting in the back seat, was pronounced dead at the scene. The 14-year-old passenger and 17-year-old driver only suffered minor injuries.
