JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — State Farm notified the state on Wednesday that it would be laying off 300 workers at its Jacksonville Operations Center in the coming months.
The company said in a letter to the state "that the affected employees would be separated from employment on 8/31/2019 or 11/30/2019."

The letter states that the "planned date of separation" is 8/31/2019 for 143 employees and the remaining 157 employees would be let go on 11/30/2019.
The letter also states that the layoffs would close the entire facility.
The company said it notified its employees under the Worker Readjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act, which encourages employers to provide notice to affected employees even when not required to do so. Click here to read the full notice.
