The Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives has suspended State Rep. Reggie Fullwood, who represents Jacksonville.

In a letter to Fullwood, Speaker Steve Crisafulli wrote that Fullwood was suspended since he pleaded guilty to felony charges.

"As a result of the suspension," Crisafulli wrote, "you are not entitled to pay or any other privileges of membership of the Florida House of Representatives through the remainder of your term."

Fullwood pleaded guilty Thursday charges of scheme to defraud and failing to file tax returns.

He was accused of using about $65,000 of campaign donations for personal expenses like jewelry, liquor, florist and restaurant bills.

On Friday, Fullwood officially dropped out of the race for reelection. Fullwood submitted his resignation letter Monday.
