TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The state of Florida says there’s about $127 million worth of unclaimed claimed property lying around, some of which might have your name on it.

In a release from Florida Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis’ office, there are more than half a million unclaimed property accounts in Baker, Bradford, Clay, Columbia, Duval, Nassau, Putnam, St. Johns and Union counties.

“The Jacksonville area holds over 527,000 unclaimed accounts, and I'm working to return every dollar back to the rightful owners,” said Patronis.

The property is being held until it’s reunited with its rightful owner.

It could be anything from money to diamond rings, earrings, watches, military medals and more.

Many of the accounts are financial assets that were unknown or lost, like unclaimed stocks, uncashed checks, deposits, credit balances and refunds.
