Target shopper says they found mosquito in Fresh Express Salad at St. Johns Town Center

At first glance, it looked like any other bag of spinach, but after a closer look, a Target customer at the St. Johns Town Center noticed a live mosquito crawling around in the greens.

The shopper bought the unopened, prepackaged Fresh Express Salad at the Target in St. Johns Town Center.

Other customers were disgusted when they heard about the bug.

“A live mosquito in a bag of salad? Oh my, gross,” says shopper Daphne Raulerson.

Another customer, Victoria Dawson questioned, “How is it still alive in a prepackaged salad?”

Apart from being grossed out, customers expressed serious concerns about the insect.

On Monday, Action News Jax told you that the same company, Fresh Express, issued a product recall after a bat carcass was found in their salad.

“Why aren’t there any more safety measures or precautions taken to ensure that there aren’t any rodents or insects in our salads? ” Dawson said.

Action News Jax called Fresh Express to ask these questions, but have not heard back.
