Teen employee of Bradford County Sheriff’s Office caught trafficking drugs into jail, doing meth with inmates

BRADFORD COUNTY, Fla. — A 19-year-old civilian employee of the Bradford County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) has been arrested for trafficking illegal drugs into the county jail, investigators say.

In March deputies say Abby Gail Davis was assigned to work with the Sheriff’s Office Animal Control Unit where she was tasked with supervising two inmates assigned to animal control as trustees.

Davis’ reportedly began using her agency-issued vehicle to drive the inmates to a well-known drug home where deputies say they would do methamphetamines. Additionally, investigators said that on multiple occasions Davis allowed inmates to coordinate the drop-off of illegal drugs at the animal control building.

BCSO conducted an investigation into the illegal activity and said it was able to intercept illegal drugs and contraband such as tobacco from entering the jail. At the time of her arrest, Davis was found with tobacco products in a concealable package along with illegal narcotics, deputies said.

Davis is charged with official misconduct by a public employee, conspiring to facilitate an illegal narcotics transaction, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and possession of meth.

Deputies say more charges will be filed.
