Teenager in critical condition after golf cart overturns in Pomona Park

POMONA PARK, Fla. — Florida Highway Patrol has reported that an 11-year-old boy is critically injured after a golf cart crash in Putnam County.

STORY: One man and one child dead after being swiped by car during emergency stop on I-95

At approximately 12:05 a.m., a group of teenagers were traveling north on Lake Como Dr. in a golf cart, when the 17-year-old driver lost control and traveled off the roadway. The driver overcorrected onto the roadway again, and the cart overturned.

The driver and two of the occupants were ejected from the golf cart, but one occupant was only partially ejected. The cart finally came to a rest on its head, pinning the partially ejected occupant underneath.

The teens were transported to a local hospital for treatment. The three ejected occupants only sustained minor injuries, but the 11-year-old boy trapped under the golf cart is in critical condition.
